This beautiful book is an updated version of the beloved poem, “’Twas the Night Before Christmas.” Small changes have been made to help kids identify more with the story. For example, the children in the story dream of candy canes instead of the original treat of sugar plums. Also, in this version, the story of Santa’s arrival is told by the house cat.

The original poem, written by Clement Clarke Moore in 1823, is included at the end of the book.
