The third studio album from New Orleans doom and gloom rappers $uicideboy$ continues the shadowy production, aggressive energy, and intense lyrical themes of their earlier work, but also conveys moments of newfound positivity and even some self-aware humor. Not quite as fixated on drugs, death, and pain as their earlier work, Sing Me a Lullaby, My Sweet Temptation still shocks with raw lyrics and eerie G-funk instrumental cues on the old-school tinged "Fucking Your Culture," slowed-down R&B hooks on "Escape from Babylon," and a winking nod to the haters on "$uicideboy$ Were Better in 2015." ~ TiVo Staff
