Tove Jansson (1914-2001) was a Finnish-Swedish writer and artist, who achieved worldwide fame as the creator of the stories about the Moomins, written and illustrated between 1945 and 1977. Misabel is Moominmamma's maid who tends to be paranoid, especially when cleaning. Misabel owns a dog, Sorry-oo, with whom she shares secrets which Snorkmaiden eventually finds out. Dejected Misabel is easily offended, but Snorkmaiden teaches her to enjoy life.
