In this companion book to our 2-part Flashwords Unofficial Scrabble Study Guide to 2- and 3-letter words, we now present Eve Le QiNu's Money.
This book will help you learn by heart all the monetary terms in the Official Scrabble Dictionary. Ever heard of a FUGIO? That's an early American coin, as is a STELLA and a DISME.
The book is divided into two sections:
1. Currencies around the world, throughout history. We provide the name of the currency or coin and its plurals, and give a brief history of the coin. Because we like our readers to be very well informed, we also include a brief geographical note about the country concerned.
(Sherlock Holmes believed that his brain was like an attic, with walls that would not expand, but we know better. The more information you know, the easier it is to sort and remember new information.)
2. Financial terms. We don't cover the obvious terms, like for example CASH. But did you know that ENCASH is a word?
By the time you finish this book you will have added over 500 words to your Scrabble vocabulary, and learned a bit about numismatics and world geography as well.
