Audience: It is written for second year medical students, and both MD and DO students can use it for exam preparation.
Features: The book goes through every topic covered on the exam. It contains hundreds of frequently tested facts and mnemonics to help students better prepare. It summarizes each organ system, its physiology, pathophysiology, and related drugs for therapy. However, a few USMLE step 1 type questions after every chapter would have been helpful for students to test their knowledge.
Assessment: This is a useful guide for revision purposes and sets the standard of preparation for students taking the USMLE step 1. Updated information and illustrations will save students a lot of time.
