Only a label like Solid State could dig up evil-sounding death metal/black metal Christians from the depth of Norway. And their combination of experimental guitar leads, hardcore breakdowns, and melodic vocals help make Burial a breath of fresh air among a genre that relies on satanic gimmicks. Extol isn't afraid to go speak their beliefs even if it isn't popular within the black metal realm. Being accomplished musicians with strong heads on their shoulders makes this release something to be respected, if not enjoyed by believers and non-believers. ~ Mike DaRonco
