Miranda Childers knows how to capture and tell a good story. She studied theater at the University of Evansville, in Evansville Indiana, Harlaxton College in Grantham England, with Harvard University ART’s sister program MXAT in Moscow, Russia, thanks to the generosity of Alexander Popov, and Spanish Language and Culture at the University of Buenos Aires in Buenos Aires Argentina and at Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina where she earned her BA in Spanish Language & Literature. She is fluent in four languages (English, Spanish, AAVE, and French) and has set a goal to learn Italian and Kiswahili.
Currently, Childers is an ALM Degree Candidate with the Creative Writing and Literature Program and is also seeking a Graduate Certificate in Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Leadership from Harvard University's Extension School. Formerly an American history, Drama, and Spanish teacher, Childers co-founded Georgia Whirl Productions LLC in 2018. Georgia Whirl Productions LLC, or GWP as it is affectionately referred to, is the Southeast's fastest-growing BIPOC and women-owned independent production company. Through the Comcast RISE program, a commercial that Childers wrote, directed, and edited appeared on CNN, BET, ESPN, and a number of other prime time networks in 2022. As an extroverted thinker, frank and decisive, Childers assumes leadership readily. Her ability to quickly identify logical and inefficient procedures and policies allows her to develop and implement comprehensive systems to solve organizational problems. Childers enjoys long term planning and goal setting. She is well read, well informed, enjoys sharing her knowledge and passing it on to others.
Childers continues to give back to her community, teaching drama classes and hosting workshops for children and teens. She is also a CASA in the state of Georgia. Her affiliations are the N.O.W.S.A. (National Organization for Women’s Safety Awareness), the Author’s Guild (AG), NATAS-SE, WIFTA (women in film and television in Atlanta), and the GAGC (Georgia Association for Gifted Children), where she was a featured speaker in 2021 and 2022.
