One of the earlier books in the Lieutenant Eve Dallas series, this title has a bit more meat to the story and personalities. In a plot eerily similar to the 9/11 attack, terrorists are threatening to destroy New York City, and Eve, along with her new husband, Roarke, must find them before disaster strikes. As always with this series, Susan Ericksen does a great job with the accents and characterizations. The writing is a bit over the top, with lots of steamy sex, but Ericksen provides just the right touch of melodrama where it’s warranted. S.S.R. © AudioFile 2007, Portland, Maine
